Can I use any mainboard chipsets for the host machine?

Dear, I believe OpenSSD only works on a specific mainboard chipset previously due to the address mapping issue. I want to know the issue still exist since I want to set up the new storage research infrastructure with OpenSSD. (I hope the issue was resolved so I could set up with any host machines). ...

OpenSSD (cosmos+) performance number

Dear all,

Do you have any performance results of OpenSSD?
I am using the 8 channel / 8 way configuration and testing the performance on the Linux machine.
I want to check the performance value measured on the Linux machine is similar to the SSD benchmark tool running on Windows.

Thank you.

Re: Error while detecting PCIe

Dear Sangjin,

I appreciate your team's effort for the new firmware.
Will the new firmware code be very different from the current one? I am going to analyze and develop our code based on the current code, but if the changes are huge I'm afraid porting to the new version may be tough.

Re: Error while detecting PCIe

It looks like it is because the mainboard used for the host machine is not compatible with OpenSSD. When I used the somewhat old generation board (e.g. Intel P67 or H67 chip is equipped), not error like "line 309" doesn't appear. Also I found the tested boards appearing on the tutorial slides are al...

Firmware update procedure

Hello, Regarding Cosmos+ tutorial the procedure to install OpenSSD to a host machine is as follows. 1) Programming FPGA 2) Run the firmware on the FPGA 3) Turn on the host machine But this procedure takes long time. Especially when modifying the firmware turning on/off the host machine is so annoyin...

SSD seen from Linux host

Hello all, I succeeded to program FPGA and upload firmware on OpenSSD board. I could see the "FTL reset complete!!" and "Turn on the host PC". After that I want to use the Linux host machine to see SSD drive, but nothing is seen from the host. Do I need to set something on Linux OS to detect OpenSSD...

Xilinx Vivado 2014.4 license

Hello,

I installed Xilinx Vivado 2014.4 System edition with SDK.
After installation it is required to set license. I want to know which license is required, and how to get it.

Thank you.
